How did the pandemic and e-commerce help launch the Marketplace.Legko project?

The seminar was organized with the help of Marketplace.Legko Center for E-Commerce, which opened in February. According to the Association of E-Commerce Enterprises, the e-commerce market in Tatarstan is growing annually by 30%. In 2020, its turnover reached 67 billion rubles, while the share of online commerce was already 7% (5% in 2019).

At the end of 2020, the number of Tatarstan companies on Wildberries and Ozon increased by 60%: to 828 on Wildberries and more than 500 on Ozon. The number of sellers in the market increased tenfold last year, reaching 5,000. Moreover, according to different estimates, more than 12,000 companies in the republic have great potential to trade through the markets. Today, the center has assumed the functions of administering the region’s e-commerce market. The government of the republic, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan and the institution of business ombudsman plan to increase the turnover of Tatarstan entrepreneurs in federal e-commerce with the help of the center. The core competence of the center is e-commerce, in particular trading on marketplaces.

“The government of Tatarstan is making a lot of effort to create the infrastructure of logistics centers, to attract the main Russian and world markets to the republic, to learn how to work with them. Our main task is to create comfortable conditions for Tatarstan conditions to bypass the rapidly growing e-commerce market, which is becoming one of the main outlets. It is precisely the e-commerce market that is the main factor of any business. Free educational events organized by Marketplace.Legko Center for E-Commerce specialists in different municipal districts of Tatarstan have proven to be very popular among entrepreneurs who are beginning to understand the competitive advantages that e-commerce gives them. The most important thing is not to miss the opportunity and to know how to take advantage of a favorable situation,” Farid Abdulganiyev, the business mediator and assistant to the President of Tatarstan, told Realnoe Vremya Farid Abdulganiyev.

How was the Center launched at the height of the pandemic?

During the opening of the center last February, Tatarstan’s Business Ombudsman paid attention to the significantly accelerated transformation of trade with the onset of the pandemic making e-commerce the main product sales channel for entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, the logistics distribution centers of the largest markets have already been built and are developing in Tatarstan, which led to the opening of the Marketplace.Legko center.

In March, the experience of the country’s first e-commerce center began to be reviewed in Russian regions, also online. Omsk Oblast was the first to learn from the experience. In June, the director of international cooperation of Wildberries, Alexey Dukhanin, joined the center’s expert council, which made perfect sense. In 2020, the largest logistics center of this company outside the Moscow region began to operate in the Zelenodolsk Industrial Park on an area of 100,000 square meters. In the first five months of 2021, the number of Tatarstan entrepreneurs on Wildberries increased by 2.4 times, reaching 9,976. The number of Tatarstan suppliers exceeded 1.5 billion rubles during this period . Later, the Ozon online store, whose logistics terminal is also being built in Zelenodolsk on an area of 38,000 square meters, became a technology partner of the center.

As the Marketplace.Legko website itself says, over the next three years e-commerce will grow by 4.4 trillion rubles. Last year, 10 million Russian customers joined the online market, the market itself grew by 45%, the share of online customers has tripled over the past six years, the number of store buyers Online Russians also grew by 32%.

Last March, the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the government of the republic instructed the Electronic Commerce Center to have 700 Tatarstan companies in e-commerce. Now the republic ranks first in the Volga region and second in Russia after Moscow and Moscow Oblast in e-commerce. Fall seminars should work. Note that in June 2021, more than 1,100 entrepreneurs have already participated in Marketplace.Legko seminars. At that time, training was carried out in the Bavly and Kukmor districts as well as in Kazan, Nizhnekamsk and Almetyevsk. Conferences were organized in Naberezhnye Chelny and Bugulma.

An intensive three-hour seminar will help develop business

“At each seminar, we discuss the so-called triatomic business model to establish its own manageable sales channels on marketplaces and online platforms in general. Entrepreneurs mainly ask questions about e-com infrastructure: how to create digital content, package products and where to store them, how to promote and organize logistics. These are all key business processes in the sales organization,” explained Yuliana Gordon.

“According to her, the so-called engine that helps entrepreneurs take a different view of business development for three hours of intensive training, keep looking at the market, turn to Marketplace.Legko and grow their business through the e-commerce. It is a unique experience for the regions, to approach the creation of e-commerce in a systemic way”, noted Yuliana Gordon.

By the way, Rustam Minnikhanov recently posted a video about the upcoming seminars on Instagram. He says that Volga Bolgaria whose heir is Tatarstan was at the crossroads of key trade routes. The old Kazan Fair was famous since the 12and century. While Yelabuga is still named a market town for a reason – its bread market was a major trading center in the Kama region. Tatar merchants played an important role at all Volga fairs. As the video shows, 2021 has become a chain of life in the development of e-commerce, while Tatarstan again began to play an important role in trade, but now as a growth point of e-commerce (by the way , representatives of the largest online platforms talk about the leadership of the republic in this regard). 10,000 entrepreneurs in the republic have already “succeeded” online. The video urges other entrepreneurs from Zelenodolsk, Yelabuga, Laishevo, Kazan to take the training organized by Marketplace.Legko and start selling goods and services online.
