How the New Year holidays ended in Tatarstan — RealnoeVremya.com
Kazan received 140,000 tourists in 10 days
The festivities connected with the New Year celebration traditionally began in Tatarstan almost a week until December 31. In general, according to all the agencies that prepared and hosted them, there were about 6,000 cultural and sporting events, while almost 450,000 locals and their guests took part.
According to Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleyeva, all events were first-class, but accidents could not be avoided. Representatives of the government, the Ministry of Culture, the State Committee for Tourism, the State Fire Safety Inspection Service and the Kazan City Administration summed up the results of the 10-day vacation during a special briefing on January 11.
As usual, they started with positive news: tourist traffic started to return to pre-COVID-19 times in Tatarstan and its capital. For 10 days, more than 140,000 tourists visited the republic – by January 2, hotels and hostels were 79% full, Fazleyeva noted, then the rate rose to 90%.
The Kazan Kremlin, other monuments of the capital of Tatarstan are among the favorite sites of the guests. The island city of Sviyazhsk, the Great Bolgar, the museums of Yelabuga and Chistopol arouse the interest of tourists.
The Tatar Santa Claus living in the village of Kyrlay and his granddaughter Snow Maiden managed to accommodate almost 3,000 guests, not only from other regions, but also from residents of Tatarstan. Last year, the village won a grant from the Federal Tourism Agency with which it renovated the exterior and interior design, which has certainly made the tourist landmark more popular, the speakers believe.
Leyla Fazleyeva emphasized such a New Year’s project as the tree of New Year’s wishes. She says that Father Frost received about a thousand letters from children in 2021.
In the letters, small residents of the republic asked him to meet with the President of Tatarstan, to go to Moscow, St. Petersburg or Baikal, there were a lot of wishes for different gadgets. But as the Deputy Prime Minister noted, most of them are not children’s wishes, but “advice” from their parents. By the way, children’s letters continue to arrive in the government of Tatarstan, while those received in the administration of the cabinet of the minister and the president have not gone unnoticed, the speaker noted during the briefing. In addition, school and rural camps opened during the New Year holidays on the territory of Tatarstan, a total of 144 establishments where more than 4,000 schoolchildren could spend the holidays.
Tourists prefer Kazan Kremlin and Tatar Santa Claus
Deliberately organized charter flights from Moscow to Kazan contributed to increased tourist traffic, which included accommodation and a special cultural program, Deputy Chairman of the Tatarstan State Committee for Tourism Aygul Balakhontseva completed the report of the Deputy Prime Minister. 800 people took advantage of discounts (from 14,000 rubles per person).
Three charter trains carried another 510 tourists to the New Year city. Tourists arrived from Izhevsk, Samara, Penza, Ulyanovsk and other cities of the Volga Federal District by rail.
A tour for two adults with a special program costs from 10,000 rubles, it was from 7,000 rubles for a child from 5 to 10 years old.
As noted by Aygul Balakhontseva, New Year’s trees in Kazan and a visit to the island city of Sviyazhsk ranked first among tourists’ preferences. They held 80% of the full list of services. A visit to the village of Tatar Santa Claus and a trip to Raifa Monastery at Christmas come second in terms of requests and popularity (18%).
By the way, another stage of the tourist cashback program begins in Russia on January 18 – the government will reimburse 20% of the cost of travel for a trip around the country, but not more than 20,000 rubles. Russians can choose a destination and pay until April 12.
Fire, traffic accidents and violations of COVID-19 rules
Accidents could not be avoided during long vacations. Leyla Fazleyeva complained that no matter how much parents forbade their children from riding tubes, there will be those who stubbornly prefer this way of descending a hill anyway. As a result, there were 35 accidents with various injuries. Also, cold days and children spending a lot of time outdoors without control lead to frostbite – three cases have been recorded.
Snowstorms, snowfalls and, of course, traffic violations caused 84 traffic accidents on the roads of the republic. 17 children were injured in the accidents, two died.
In addition, a total of 110 fires were recorded in different districts of the republic. As a result, seven people died, six residents of Tatarstan received different injuries, said Maxim Trushchin, deputy chief inspector of the State Fire Safety Inspection Service.
Yet, he noted, compared to last year’s holiday, the statistics have improved: the number of fires has fallen by 20%, the number of deaths by 5%. The main causes of fires have not changed — the violation of fire safety rules, as well as the malfunction of furnaces, chimneys and flues.
At the end of the briefing, Leyla Fazleyeva noted as head of the Republican coronavirus task force that inspections were carried out during holidays in the republic – there were more than 400 inspections, “about 10% of establishments allow violations of anti-COVID-19 measures,” she said:
“The restrictions that were imposed were planned for the festive period. The fate of the restrictions depends on next week: we will see… Of course, since there is a drop in the incidence, the mask regime is again not followed, the temperature is not measured, the codes QR are not strictly controlled at entry… But inspections are carried out, the Ministry of Interior continues to work, reports are made, reports from the Russian consumer rights protection watchdog are made, the work is not s don’t stop… We are working with the restrictions that have been imposed. Although this is possible, despite the decline in incidence, we must understand that the measures must be respected. »
