Delo Group and Tatarstan cooperate in containerization of cargo base
The transition to regular container shipments will optimize the logistics of Tatarstan companies by 15-25%
President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of the Delo Group Board of Directors Sergey Shishkarev discussed the main directions of cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, according to the group’s press release. The participants focused on the organization of container transport, containerization of the cargo base and investment activities in the largest economic centers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Group proposed to the President of Tatarstan the implementation of several projects in the republic to improve the logistics efficiency of enterprises, including the organization of regular container trains. The parties also discussed the Sviyazhsk interregional multimodal logistics center and the prospects for the development of the special economic zone (hereinafter – SEZ) “Alabuga”.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to prepare a draft comprehensive agreement on cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Delo Group to increase the containerization volume of the cargo base and the organization of container transportation . In addition, a joint working group will be formed to examine the feasibility and prospects of investment activities in the SEZ “Alabuga” and the development of multimodal container transport in the region.
Group experts estimate that the transition to regular container shipments will optimize the logistics of Tatarstan companies by 15-25% and reduce delivery times by half.
The working meeting in Kazan on September 13 also brought together Midhat Shagiakhmetov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, Oleg Korobchenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, Farit Khanifov, Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of the Republic of Tatarstan, Alexander Isurin, President of TransContainer, Denis Bogomolov, Vice President of Delo Group and Victor Markov, Senior Vice President of TransContainer.
Delo Group is a Russian transport and logistics holding company, operating its own fleet and managing maritime container terminals in the Azov-Black Sea, Baltic and Far East basins, a network of rail container terminals, a container fleet and mounting platforms. The parent company of the Group is Delo Management Company.
