The Tatarstan State Committee for Tourism expects many tourists who will visit Kazan and other famous tourist spots of the republic this summer. The head of the committee, Sergei Ivanov, traditionally did not make forecasts but said that the occupancy rate of hotels in Kazan was good and that the work would be resumed at the end of the year. According to him, about 150,000 citizens from other regions of the country spent 10 days of May holidays in Kazan. So Ivanov says that tourists and visitors come to the capital of the republic mainly from Moscow and St. Petersburg, then the list includes residents of Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Penza and other Volga cities and regions.

Various tourist programs and types of recreation await those who decide to spend a vacation or a weekend in Tatarstan. As before, the program 1001 Delights for a weekend in Tatarstan will be in effect, 10 districts of the republic are participating in it: Spass, Chistopol, Yelabuga, Mamadysh, Saba, Kamskoye Ustye, Rybnaya Sloboda, Arsk, Kukmor. The Alexeyevsk district joined them for the first time.

The district of the republic can accommodate about 530 people per weekend at the same time. The terms of the program and the price of the tour have not changed – 2,200 rubles per person, the price includes an excursion, meals and accommodation.

The chairman of the state committee urged the citizens of the republic to travel within the region and to neighboring regions and noted that they could receive cash back in a special program for this type vacation. However, if the Mir card is used for payment, and the trip lasts at least two nights (3 days), a tourist can recover 20% of the travel expenses, but not more than 20,000 rubles. Cash back can be received for accommodation in hotels (if they have stars), in Tatarstan spa resorts, for excursions, cruises on the Volga, vacations in children’s camps. Also, residents of Tatarstan have the opportunity to travel along the Great Volga Highway, which unites a series of destinations in 14 regions of the Volga Federal District.

In addition, there will be six glamping sites for 200 beds in the republic, another 14 sites in environmentally friendly places will open until the end of the year. Outdoor vacation is suitable for any budget: one night per person will cost from 2 to 13 thousand rubles depending on the condition of the site. Visitors can visit vineyards, tasting, horseback riding, sailing, yachting.

Tatarstan’s iconic historic tourist spots are waiting for the influx of tourists

Sergei Ivanov also said that Kazan airport is expanding the flight map: you can travel to nine cities of the country from the capital of Tatarstan via a local airline for a fairly symbolic price, since the flights are subsidized: Kemerovo, Omsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Makhachkala, Barnaul, Samara, Perm and Petrozavodsk. The ticket price is from 2,250 to 6,000 rubles. New routes – to Murmansk and Arkhangelsk – also appeared. International flights have opened – people can travel from Kazan to the capitals of Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, fly to the United Arab Emirates, Egypt or Cyprus.

Of course, the main historical sights of Tatarstan – the island city of Sviyazhsk, the Bolgar Museum-Reserve, Yelabuga and the Kazan Kremlin – are waiting for a large influx of guests. Here, tourists will see many festivals and different cultural programs over the three months. For example, a religious music festival will be held in Sviyazhsk on June 12, the island city will host the Sviyazhsk Workshop theater laboratory in July. In Bolgar, the anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria will be celebrated on June 5, and the new ethnic festival Aga Bazaar will be here in July, in August spectators can see the legendary medieval fight festival.

Yelabuga awaits tourists at 14and Spass Fair and the Russian Bell Ringing Festival, which are scheduled for August 6-8. The city’s museums will host various exhibitions, the exhibits of which come from different Russian museums, from Tambov, Ivanovo and others. A total of 30 excursion routes will operate in Yelabuga district this summer.

Does Kazan have it all?

As for Kazan, the tourism committee of the city administration has prepared extensive holiday programs for every taste: historical excursions with professional guides, various festivals — food, music, Sabantuy, cruises. Thus, on June 19, Kazan will bring together fans of breakdancing around a Russian tournament, and a festival of jeans culture will open on July 3 with a dance flash mob, an exhibition of jeans, Assa film will be screened and a meeting with actor and member of the Kino group Sergey Bugayev.

As the head of the Kazan committee for tourism development, Daria Sannikova said: “We all missed events and I hope all our plans will come true, Kazan has everything for a great vacation.”

The Kazan Kremlin, a point of attraction for all tourists and guests coming to the capital of Tatarstan, is not immune to novelties. New exhibitions, festivals await its visitors, while more than 600 certified guides will work on the territory, thanks to one of the routes people can also see the walls and towers of the Kremlin. Now the landmark is preparing to host the Fanfares of Kazan festival among wind bands, 19 bands from the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian National Guard and others have already agreed to participate.
