President of Tatarstan visits Jeddah Chamber, meets with GCC leader

JEDDAH — President Rustam Minnikhanov of the Republic of Tatarstan and the accompanying delegation paid a visit to the Jeddah hemicycle on Wednesday on the sidelines of his participation in the meeting of the Strategic Vision Group (GSV) “Russia – Islamic World”, under the theme “Dialogue and Prospects for Cooperation”.

Upon his arrival at the scene, he was received by Chairman of the Board of the Jeddah Chamber, Mohammed Bin Yousef Naghi and a number of members of the Chamber.

Minnikhanov expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Jeddah Chamber for receiving him, emphasizing his concern to develop trade and economic relations between his country and Saudi Arabia in the framework of the adoption of agricultural projects, petrochemicals, food sectors, industries and other types of products that are produced in Tatarstan.

He also called on Saudi companies to participate in investment projects in Tatarstan, which is one of the main regions of the Russian Federation, and has more incentives to create a competitive business and investment environment for the foreign investors, amid the natural elements of Tatarstan and its desire to enter the Saudi market.

During the visit, the exploration of joint opportunities was discussed between the two parties.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Dr. Naif Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, met here with the visiting President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, of the Republic of Tatarstan (head of the vision group strategy), on the sidelines of the “Meeting “Russia – Islamic World”.

During the meeting, they discussed the existing relations between the GCC member states and Tatarstan, as well as the importance of strengthening cooperation and ways to support and develop them at all levels to achieve the security, stability and sustainable development, in addition to supporting the activity of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group to serve common interests. — SPA
