Iran, Tatarstan stress facilitation of bilateral economic relations

Speaking during his meeting with President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in Tehran on Tuesday evening, First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber said that Iran and Tatarstan enjoy high capabilities and potential to develop bilateral relations in the commercial, industrial, scientific and cultural fields.

Referring to the cordial and friendly relations between Iran and Russia, Mokhber noted that Tehran and Moscow have drawn up joint plans for the development of cooperation in the transit sector, so that Tatarstan can establish joint cooperation with the Iran in this sector.

The First Vice President called the construction of joint trade centers between Iran and Tatarstan “a step towards facilitating trade and economic relations.

With the construction of these malls, the necessary foundation for the expansion of private sector cooperation will be more than before, he said.

Tatarstan’s President, for his part, highlighted his visit to MAPNA and Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO) and said his country is keen to leverage Iran’s capabilities in various areas of cooperation.

During the meeting, Minnikhanov called for the exchange of university professors and students between the two countries, Iran and Tatarstan.

At the head of a high-ranking delegation composed of 60 officials, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov paid a visit to the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Tuesday.
