Sanatoriums in Tatarstan are ready to receive refugees, and transporters have stopped driving trucks from the seaport of Odessa

Tatarstan is an important international transport and economic center in Russia, cannot stay away from the turmoil taking place in the world. In the early hours of the start of the unprecedented military operation in Donbass, the Tatarstan authorities were among the first in the country to announce that they were ready to quickly receive refugees from the DPR and the LPR at any time. and to provide them with all necessary assistance. . In the meantime, events in the recognized republics and in Ukraine have had an impact on the life of the republic. As Realnoe Vremya learned, Tatarstan’s international cargo carriers had difficulties due to the closure of the Odessa seaport, several flights to the south of the country were canceled from Kazan by order of the Federal Agency air transport.

Union sanatoriums in Tatarstan are ready to receive refugees

Mobilization is not momentary, but permanent—in the “blood” of the republican state apparatus in Tatarstan. As usual, the region quickly adapted to the situation, mobilizing the necessary resources in a short time.

Even before the start of the Russian military operation in Donbass, the authorities of the people’s republics of Donetsk and Luhansk began to evacuate civilians. The first refugee trains started arriving in our country at the end of last week. Within days, more than 100,000 people left the Donbass. They were received by the southern regions of the country, the Moscow region and the Volga region.

In total, more than 40 regions of Russia, including Tatarstan, have declared their readiness to receive civilians from the DPR and the LPR. Tatarstan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Nigmatullin held an operational headquarters that will coordinate the placement of forcibly displaced persons. According to the operational staff, the republic was expecting the arrival of about a thousand people from the DPR and the LPR.

They decided to place the refugees in three Kazan sanatoriums of the Federation of Trade Unions – Zhemchuzhina, Livadia and Vasilevsky in the Zelenodolsk district of the Republic of Tatarstan. In addition to this, Kvart hotels in Kazan and KAMAZ hotels in Naberezhnye Chelny will be involved. Although the arrival of DPR and LPR residents is postponed for the time being, everything is ready for their arrival in the sanatoriums, they assured Realnoe Vremya.

“We are in a 100% state of readiness, ready to receive guests at any time,” Irina Puzakova, the representative of the Federation of Trade Unions of Tatarstan, told our publication.

According to her, Zhemchuzhina, which is designed for 250 people, is ready to receive the largest number of guests. One hundred and fifty places are allocated in the Livadia sanatorium, another 100 refugees will be received in Vasilevsky. Those forcibly displaced will rest and participate in welfare programs, Puzakova said. There is an agreement that the refugees will stay for two weeks.

Ak Bars Creation Charitable Foundation has opened a one-time settlement account to raise funds to help people in need, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan reported. In addition, Molodaya Gvardiya and the regional department of United Russia opened a humanitarian collection of things for temporary migrants from the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics in Kazan, Gorky Street, 12.

Before accommodation, the health of the refugees will be checked by ambulance teams and doctors will be on duty in the sanatoriums. They will receive emergency medical care in large specialized clinics in Tatarstan, including the Republican Clinical Hospital and the Republican Clinical Children’s Hospital.

However, so far, echelons with refugees from Donbass have not been formed. As the head of the press service of the President of the Republic, Lilia Galimova, explained during the briefing, the Tatarstan authorities cannot influence the departure speed of the train, but they are ready to meet people at any time and to provide all necessary assistance.

In addition, citizens of the LPR and the DPR are ready to offer more than 50,000 vacancies in the republic:

“The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of Tatarstan organizes work with target groups of arrivals from the DPR and the LPR – these are women with children, minors and the elderly” , reports the press service of the department.

Tatarstan is ready to provide jobs for citizens of DPR and LPR. Employers in the republic announced 53,000 vacancies with an average salary of 40,000 rubles.

“Freight transport will continue on other routes”

On the first day of the military operation in Donbass, this caused certain difficulties for enterprises. First of all, the international road transport of goods imported from the seaport of Odessa was completely stopped. Among them are vegetables and fruits supplied by Turkey to Russia.

As the head of the goods transport department of the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Sotnikov told Realnoe Vremya, the transit of tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers through the territory of Ukraine has been suspended for the moment.

This information was confirmed by the head of the Volga branch of the Association of International Motor Transporters, Evgeny Okunev. According to him, trucks began to be withdrawn from Ukrainian territory a few days ago, and the last cars were due to leave on February 22-23.

The Association itself called on carriers to stop transit flights:

“Due to the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine and the closure of checkpoints on the Russian-Ukrainian border, we strongly recommend that you do not carry out transport in two-way communication and transit through the territory of Ukraine until until the situation normalizes.”

In addition, the Association has started to search for those who may be “stranded” in Ukraine: “To develop measures with the Ministry of Transport of Russia to return vehicles of Russian transporters to Russia, we ask you to send information on vehicles that cannot leave the territory of Ukraine, as well as on road trains that require an alternative route around Ukraine to return to Russia.

However, some carriers from Tatarstan claim to have stopped traveling to Ukraine after the Crimean Spring:

“We haven’t traveled to Ukraine since 2014, so there are no drivers among our drivers who could get stuck in its territory. Certainly, this situation will change the logistics of cargo transportation – everything will change, and that will affect everyone, but the transport of goods will continue on other routes.

According to market participants, the port of Novorossiysk, through which imported vegetables are also transshipped, will handle a greater volume of transshipment cargo. In their opinion, supplies can be replaced with goods from China, Bulgaria and Azerbaijan. For example, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision has allowed the import of apples and pears from China under the guarantees of the Chinese side since February 20 this year.

Airports in southern Russia are closed until March 2

The air travel schedule has also changed. Although the Federal Air Transport Agency has recommended stopping flights to airports in the southern regions until March 2, airlines are canceling flights with a reservation for another 2-3 days.

We are talking about a sharp reduction in flights – for example, Azimut Airlines announced the elimination of 39 flights on February 24 and 25.

Flights to Bryansk, Simferopol, Mineralnye Vody were canceled from Kazan, and a flight to Sochi was delayed. Flights to Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don were canceled from Begishevo. According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, “due to the complication of the situation around the situation in Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, starting at 3:45 a.m. Moscow time, flights to a number of airports in southern Russia are temporarily restricted. The restriction is valid until 3:45 a.m. Moscow time on March 2, 2022.” Airport work has been temporarily suspended: Rostov (Platov), Krasnodar (Pashkovsky), Anapa (Vityazevo), Gelendzhik, Elista , Stavropol, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, Simferopol.

In addition, ticket sales have been cancelled. Smartavia sent a notification regarding the cancellation of promotions for the sale of cheap tickets in different regions of the country, which was scheduled for February 25 and 26.

“Due to information from the Russian aviation authorities (Rosaviation) regarding the closure of a number of airports in southern Russia, we have decided to postpone the sale of plane tickets scheduled for February 25 and 26, 2022. We hope that in the near future In the future the situation in the country will stabilize and we will be able to fly to our beloved cities again for our loved ones and loved ones.We will also inform you about the new dates of special promotions and sales,” the company said.

Currency and Technology

The volatility of the ruble worries the population. After 2 p.m., the Central Bank raised the dollar by 6 rubles — from 80.41 rubles to 86.92 rubles, and the euro — from 90.88 to 97.76 rubles.

However, reports of huge queues at ATMs and problems at chain stores on several occasions did not hold up, turning out to be fakes.

Against this backdrop, appliance and electronics retailers added a real negative. Sellers who have experienced an acute shortage of popular products since the pandemic, with the start of the military operation, have started to rewrite price tags for what was left in stock. The prices of the different categories of goods increase by 10 to 20%.

Tatarstan’s exporting companies have expressed concerns about the conduct of foreign exchange transactions. Definitely, over time, the emotional tension will subside and the entrepreneurs will serenely resolve the situation, find ways to circumvent the sanctions and other blocking measures of “Western partners”.

The situation is complicated. US President Joe Biden has said the country intends to limit Russia’s ability to do business in dollars, pounds, euros and yen. In addition, the United States imposes sanctions on Sberbank, VTB, Gazprombank and several other banks. In addition, the new US sanctions will affect the Russian space program and affect the obligations of Russia’s largest state-owned companies. The G7 countries have agreed to limit the possibilities of the Russian Federation in the field of high technology.

However, during a meeting with leading businessmen, President Vladimir Putin announced that the authorities were ready to support companies that will face sanctions.

Realnoe Vremya will follow developments.
