“A United Aircraft Engineering Corporation machining center project with a capacity of one million products per year can become the anchor resident,” Minnikhanov said.

According to him, the project will help substitute imports for the aviation sector. The head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has meanwhile declared himself ready to support the project, indicates the press service of the President of Tatarstan.

Manturov reminded the audience that according to the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Rostec company was preparing a set of investment projects aimed at providing aircraft production within the framework of cooperation. The company’s general manager, Yury Slyusar, explained that these planes were to replace foreign Boeing and Airbus planes. A few days later, on April 8, it was learned that United Aircraft Engineering Corporation intended to manufacture 70 Tu-214 aircraft until 2030.

Two weeks ago, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesochin said that the Kazan Aviation Plant (part of Tupolev PJSC) was preparing to manufacture three Tu-214 aircraft in 2023. “Then seven and 10 in 2025-2026 with an additional production of 20 planes at the same time.
